The Marketing Director, Medicare Advantage Clinical Quality & HEDIS is the marketing strategy leader responsible for defining how member engagement will advance Clinical Quality, HEDIS and Medicare Stars priorities. This leader partners with the business to translate clinical and business objectives into a clear marketing strategy: who to engage, what behavior to influence, and the best intervention, message, channel and moment to drive that behavior.

This role leads the transformation from campaign-centric outreach to intelligent, personalized, signal-driven and outcome-based engagement. Using member insights, behavioral science, data and technology, the leader will shape next-best-action strategies and measure whether marketing interventions drive desired member behaviors, quality outcomes and business impact, not simply communication engagement.

The Director sets the vision, evolves how the function works and builds the team, capabilities, partnerships and member engagement experiences required to deliver the strategy. Success requires close collaboration across Clinical Quality, Stars, Product, Provider, Analytics, Digital, Sales Technology, Member Services, Member Experience, Operations and Compliance. This role reports to the Senior Director, Member Marketing, Government Programs.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities

• Marketing Strategy Leadership
  • Own the member marketing strategy for Clinical Quality, HEDIS and Medicare Stars, serving as the strategic marketing voice and co-creator of priorities with business partners
  • Translate clinical and business objectives into audience, behavior, intervention, message, channel and timing strategies designed to drive measurable outcomes
  • Set the vision, strategic roadmap and investment priorities for the portfolio
• Personalized, Behavior-Based Engagement
  • Use member insights, behavioral science, data and technology to design relevant, personalized engagement and next-best-action approaches
  • Lead the shift from stand-alone campaigns to connected, signal-driven experiences across the member lifecycle
  • Determine the most effective combination of interventions, channels and moments to reduce barriers and motivate action
• Functional Transformation & Capability Building
  • Evolve marketing operating models, processes, decisioning, measurement and technology capabilities to enable outcome-based engagement
  • Drive adoption and optimization of Adobe Journey Optimizer and related platforms while bringing cross-functional partners through the transformation
  • Build scalable frameworks and reusable capabilities that improve speed, consistency and effectiveness
• Measurement & Optimization
  • Establish success measures tied to member behavior, care completion, quality outcomes and business impact, in addition to communication performance
  • Partner with Analytics to develop attribution, reporting and performance dashboards; lead test-and-learn plans and continuous optimization
• Enterprise Partnership
  • Lead integrated planning across Clinical Quality, Stars, Product, Provider, Analytics, Digital, Sales Technology, Member Services, Member Experience, Operations and Compliance
  • Align member and provider engagement to create coordinated experiences, consistent messaging and reduced friction
• People Leadership
  • Build, coach and develop a high-performing marketing team with the skills to lead strategy, understand consumer needs and behaviors, design connected experiences and deliver measurable outcomes
  • Create clarity, accountability and a culture of curiosity, experimentation and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in consumer, digital, lifecycle, engagement or healthcare marketing, including experience setting portfolio or functional marketing strategy
• 5+ years of experience within healthcare, insurance, financial services or another highly regulated industry
• Experience applying behavioral science, experimentation and next-best-action or decisioning approaches to member or consumer engagement
• Experience with Adobe Journey Optimizer, Adobe Experience Platform or similar marketing technology platforms and the ability to shape their strategic use
• Proven people leadership experience, including building high-performing teams, coaching strategic marketers and developing talent through change
• Demonstrated experience leading marketing transformation, building capabilities and moving teams from campaign execution toward personalized, data-driven and outcome-based engagement
• Demonstrated experience supporting HEDIS, Medicare Stars, clinical quality, pharmacy or healthcare engagement initiatives
• Demonstrated understanding of the relationship among HEDIS measures, Medicare Stars ratings, member experience, health outcomes and Medicare Advantage business performance
• Demonstrated solid measurement orientation with experience defining KPIs, partnering on attribution and using performance insights to optimize interventions
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional partners across highly matrixed organizations
• Proven success translating business and consumer insights into audience, behavior-change, personalization, lifecycle and omni-channel strategies that drive measurable outcomes
• Proven exceptional written, verbal and executive presentation skills, with the ability to balance strategic leadership, operational excellence and accountability for execution

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
