The pay range is $95,000.00 - $205,000.00

Then you’ll have success on our Design team who owns the design and development of all Target-owned brands, from apparel to home goods, and beauty to essentials. In close partnership with our merchant and sourcing counterparts, you’ll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring that our products meet the merchant line plans, assortment strategies, price points and overall creative direction. As a Senior Print & Textile Designer supporting Women’s Ready-to-Wear, you will help shape the creative vision for print, pattern, color, and artwork across key women’s apparel businesses.

We are looking for an exceptional artist and creative thinker with a sophisticated understanding of women’s fashion and the ability to translate runway, market, cultural, and guest insights into compelling, commercially relevant product.

This is a senior creative role that extends beyond artwork execution. You will independently develop a point of view, influence seasonal direction, partner closely with Design and Merchandising, and help ensure great artwork successfully translates from concept into cohesive product assortments.

What You’ll Do

• Research runway, market, cultural, color, and print trends and translate them into clear seasonal artwork direction.
• Create original, elevated artwork across florals, conversationals, geometrics, stripes, plaids, engineered/border layouts, placement prints, and other seasonal techniques.
• Demonstrate exceptional artistic range, color sensibility, and the ability to work across both expressive, fashion-forward artwork and commercial foundational prints.
• Partner with Design and Merchandising to connect artwork to silhouettes, fabrications, color, line plans, and overall assortment strategy.
• Think beyond individual prints and help build cohesive seasonal print assortments with the right balance of scale, technique, color, and visual impact.
• Use CADs, mock-ups, AI visualization, and other tools to communicate how artwork translates onto actual product.
• Serve as a strong creative partner across Design, Merchandising, Product Management, Sourcing, and vendor teams.
• Confidently present creative direction, bring forward recommendations, and help cross-functional teams align around decisions.
• Direct and review internally and externally developed artwork, including vendor and print-studio work.
• Maintain ownership from initial research and concept through artwork development, strike-offs, and final product execution.
• Independently manage a significant business scope, proactively identify roadblocks, and bring forward solutions.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to evolving creative tools, technology, and ways of working.

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years of professional print/textile design experience, ideally within Women’s Ready-to-Wear or another fashion-driven apparel environment.
• Exceptional portfolio demonstrating sophisticated print, pattern, illustration, and color capabilities.
• Strong understanding of contemporary women’s fashion, runway, trends, and the competitive market.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; experience with AI and emerging creative technologies is valued.
• Expert understanding of repeats, scale, placement, color, and production-ready artwork.
• Strong understanding of how artwork interacts with silhouette, fabrication, and assortment.
• Excellent visual editing, presentation, communication, and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead through ambiguity, and bring a strong creative POV without requiring continuous direction.
• Strong cross-functional partnership skills and the ability to balance creative ambition with commercial and business needs.

This role is performed in office 4 days per week. About you: • Four-year degree in Textile Design, Fine Art or related field, or equivalent experience • 8+ years of textile design experience and advanced expertise in a specific category • Proficient in Photoshop/Illustrator, Nedgraphics or other computer design system skills • Strong color sense and pattern merchandising ability • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills • Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Ability to be an effective team player and manage relationships with team and key business partners
