Lead Merchant, Nike Team Global Football

Global Football Team Apparel Merchandising serves grassroots to elite football teams and athletes worldwide. We create assortments and influence line planning in partnership with product, sales, marketing, planning, and geography teams to deliver the right product for clubs and organizations through team sales channels. The Lead Merchant role drives consumer-focused assortments for Team Football, aligning geographies around key product opportunities, price points, and marketplace needs. Success requires strong cross-functional collaboration, adaptability, and the ability to translate consumer insights into effective product strategies. The team delivers seasonal priorities, assortment productivity, and marketplace alignment while enabling athletes, coaches, and clubs with a broad range of stock and customizable team apparel. We also partner with digital teams to ensure product offerings and line plans are optimized through our B2B platforms.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR We are looking for a passionate Football merchant with strong merchandising, planning, and financial acumen. This role requires the ability to shape product line plans, drive invest/divest decisions, and translate consumer and marketplace insights into clear assortment strategies. Success in this role depends on strong cross-functional partnership and a deep understanding of the team athlete journey. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON As part of the Global Football merchandising team, you will help evolve seasonal product line plans, deliver business and assortment insights, and influence product creation through consumer and marketplace learnings. You will lead seasonal business reviews, manage key merchandising tools and KPIs, partner closely with Geo merchants, sales, planning, and Global product teams, and help ensure product offerings meet marketplace needs.

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5+ years merchandising experience in the apparel industry with consumer connectivity with the ability to demonstrate consumer and financial acumen across a broad portfolio of products.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
• A detailed product eye with a desire to serve the athlete and communicate the attributes and benefits clearly and visually.
• Strong passion and knowledge of the team sports marketplace.
• Sports background in coaching, team management, team staff is an asset but not required.
• Apparel wholesale merchandising & retail math proficiency (buying, planning, merchandise management).
