Amazon Leo is hiring a Regulatory Counsel to advise at the intersection of satellite broadband technology and telecommunications regulation.
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network with the mission to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. As the service expands into new countries, you will provide in-house legal counsel on data access rules, traffic management requirements, net neutrality frameworks, and the rapidly evolving regulatory landscape surrounding satellite-based broadband. You will partner with engineering, public policy, and business teams across Amazon to develop practical, scalable legal strategies for a truly global network.
This position can be based in Arlington, VA or Bellevue, WA.

Key job responsibilities
A day in the life
No two days look the same on the Amazon Leo legal team. You might start your morning in a meeting with a technical team discussing traffic routing requirements across jurisdictions and how multiple regulations can be turned into guidance engineers can actually use and close the day drafting feedback on a newly proposed rule that could affect the Leo system, contributing to a comment that will be submitted to regulators. You will be expected to quickly synthesize complex regulatory and technical issues, offer clear and actionable guidance, and engage confidently with stakeholders across the business. You have a willingness to dive into technical subject matter as well as complex regulatory frameworks, and the judgment to make sound recommendations under uncertainty.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
