Role Summary

HP is seeking a highly experienced

Cost Product Expert

to drive end-to-end product cost competitiveness across LaserJet platforms and technologies. This role will serve as a key technical and business leader, driving strategic end-to-end product cost optimization initiatives

The successful candidate will identify, develop, and influence implementation of product cost reduction opportunities by leveraging deep technical expertise, competitive benchmarking, value engineering, design simplification, material optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. The role requires strong business acumen and the ability to influence engineering, sourcing, operations, and product management teams to achieve industry-leading cost structures while maintaining product performance, quality, reliability, and customer value.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategic initiatives to reduce product costs across hardware, mechanical, electrical, firmware, manufacturing, logistics, packaging, and supply chain domains.
• Identify and drive high-impact cost reduction opportunities throughout the product lifecycle.
• Establish cost roadmaps and savings targets aligned with business objectives.
• Provide technical leadership in balancing cost, performance, quality, reliability, and customer experience requirements.
• Lead value engineering activities to eliminate unnecessary complexity and reduce overall product cost.
• Evaluate trade-offs and recommend solutions that maximize business value while minimizing risk.
• Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management teams to execute cost reduction programs.
• Drive alignment among stakeholders with differing priorities and objectives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Typically 8+ years of experience in product development, value engineering, cost engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable product cost reductions and business impact.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization is preferred.
• Experience in printing, imaging, consumer electronics, or technology product development is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proven experience leading cross-functional engineering programs, assets and cost reduction initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
